Receiving the insignia of "Commandeur de la Légion d'Honneur" from the President of the French Republic is an important recognition of Bertrand Piccard's commitment to an ecology of progress, driven by the pioneering spirit and collective action of the Solar Impulse Foundation, its partners and the people behind its solutions. This distinction also pays tribute to a shared history with France, home to visionary projects from Breitling Orbiter to Solar Impulse, right up to Climate Impulse, now under construction in Les Sables-d'Olonne.
